This is concerning because I use one of the e-mail addresses for work and the other I use for personal. I have multiple gmail accounts in Thunderbird. I e-mail from work e-mail and cc: myself to the work e-mail or save as a template while in the work e-mail. Sometimes, not all the time, when the e-mail is sent, it shows the recipient that it is coming from the personal e-mail address and the cc will also go to that one as well as the template... and it will even save the copy in the sent folder of the personal e-mail instead of the work e-mail.

I've double checked when I'm sending to be sure that I had the work e-mail listed and not the personal... and even in the copy of the e-mail it shows it was from the work e-mail address and not the personal e-mail address, yet it is mixing them up all the same. It doesn't happen all the time, but it has been happening more frequently. This is concerning because then when a person replies, it goes to my personal e-mail when it should be replying to my work e-mail. So, then I have to go through the trouble of moving all of those to the correct e-mail address and then try to get the person to communicate to the work e-mail instead of the personal.

Please HELP!

If you have three gmail accounts, then you need three smtp accounts, one for each of the gmail accounts.

Gmail will let you use account #1's smtp server when you think you're using account #2, but it will silently replace the "from:" address by that for account #1.

Go to Tools|Account Settings|Outgoing Server (SMTP) and check if you do have one smtp setting for each incoming account. If you don't , create them now. Give each one a unique description so you know what it does.

Then go to Tools|Account Settings and select one of the incoming accounts, and under the top level, Account Settings, check that the corresponding gmail smtp server is selected in the box near the bottom of the right hand pane. Repeat for each of your incoming gmail accounts.
