Search bar suggestions show up even though they are turned off. Why?
I am a Windows 10 user of Firefox, using DuckDuckGo as my default search engine. I've turned off search suggestions in both Firefox and DuckDuckGo and they still appear. I'd like to make them stop appearing.
I've done extensive searching and haven't found any answers to my question. If someone knows any other options that would actually turn off the suggestions, I'd like to know! Thank you!

Alright! I don't know my lingo. Those weren't search suggestions, so thanks for being understanding, guys!

Hi, it maybe you have to give up Form History to get rid of that completely. Please Copy/Paste about:preferences#privacy to the Address Bar and Enter.
Go down to History and uncheck Remember Search and Forms. For Forms can install a Extension : Plain Forms :
Robo Forms :

The screenshot shows bookmarks (with a star) and history items (without star). That aren't search suggestions and thus aren't affected by disabling search suggestions.
Note that the Enter key stops working in the location bar when all suggestions for the location bar are disabled.

If you wish to remove the history/bookmarks entries for whatever reason, enter about:config in the address bar, click the button saying you agree, and search for browser.urlbar.suggest, then double click the entries "browser.urlbar.suggest.history" and "browser.urlbar.suggest.bookmarks" to toggle them off. The change will occur immediately. The rest of the prefs in that section are self explanatory.
