Firefox just removed most of my addons including my password manager with NO WARNING!
I used a password manager that I INSTALLED FROM THE FIREFOX ADD ON WEBSITE using the normal method, and it has been put in the LEGACY addons folder.
I can no longer use this add on and was given no warning. My browser just started and then my addons were gone.
I had passwords and security questions for my websites saved in the password manager.
Without access to the passwords AND ANSWERS TO THE SECURITY QUESTIONS, what will I do to log on to my financial websites and other important sites.
THERE WAS NO WARNING GIVEN. I only download addons through the browser from the official website, and now feel that add ons can NEVER BE TRUSTED AGAIN!
--Did this happen to other people or just me? --How do I open the add on and get the information out to save it?
Chosen solution
Sorry, the Add-ons team is working on a fix for this. It looks like a certificate used to sign many popular extensions expired. (The verification process checks that certificate.)
I don't know how soon re-signed versions of those extensions will become available, or whether another workaround will be discovered. We are all hoping to learn more soon.
