I am moving to a new Windows installation. Moving from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 10 x64. I copied the profile over from the old profile folder to the new one. Mail was indeed moved. However, addon settings were not (or either there's a problem with addons). In attempting to investigate this issue, I discovered that I cannot get into settings for addons. When I click to load the options for one of them, nothing appears on the screen. However, Thunderbird seems to be stuck with a modal window that is just not visible (I assume) because when I click anywhere, all I get is the ding sound. SOS - help.  :)

Chosen solution

There were significant changes with add-on when updating to V60. So if your going from an older version to a new version the "upgrade" might ot have run to disable non compatible add-ons.

Make sure you have your old version on 60.7 before you copy the profile.,
