I have downloaded all Lineone email to Thunderbird client, when this Lineone account closes, will I still be able to view all my historical messages/folders?
I have a Lineone email account which will soon be closed by TalkTalk. I have downloaded all historical messages to my Thunderbird client. When Lineone does get closed, will i still be able to view the historical messages I have saved in Thunderbird folders?

Try this addon extension: ImportExportTools NG
How to install addon: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-addon-thunderbird
After installing and restarting TB Right click on 'Local Folders' mail account ImportExportTools > Import mbox file Choose the second option 'Import one or more mbox files with it's subdirectory. and click on OK
then locate/select the mbox file and click on 'open'. It will also import any subfolders to that folder thus maintaining a folder structure.

Hi If your Lineone account was a POP account, you should have all the messages downloaded on your local computer already. If your Lineone account was IMAP - move your Lineone emails into 'local folders' in Thunderbird. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Local_Folders and this previous answer may help, but bear in mind it was written in 2015 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1079742 Agnes

It might have been written in 2015, but it still applies. You need to be certain you fully synchronise all folders for offline use and download full copies of emails. If you can read emails in Offline mode then you have a good copy downloaded. Strongly suggest you do copying of emails in offline mode as it means no folders can synchronise whilst you are using them. Also, use 'copy to' not 'move-to' because if 'move to' fails then you would also lose email off server.
Check you can read several various emails in various 'Local Folders' folders, especially anything that really is important before deleting from imap and off server.
Then create a backup of profile folder name.
Note: Whether emails are stored on server (imap accounts), or stored on your computer in POP accounts or 'Local folders' mail account, you would be advised to periodically create a backup copy of your profile folder name. As in all cases there is still only one copy.
Ok, so I am now trying to do as suggested and am struggling to find a way to copy the folder structure I have into my Local Folders, ready to copy across. Is there a way to do this in bulk or is it a manual set up process?
