not seeing the EG, but I am guessing it is italics etc type changes and emoji.

for some time email subject lines have been able to be encoded in unicode. But this requires that the actual unicode be specified starting with an equal sign and  ?utf-8. entering ?utf-8?Q?=F0=9F=8D=8C? with equal signs before and after into a message subject will display a banana for instance.

Hi Matt, thanks a lot for your diagnosis and the means to create fonts and images in the subject field. However I am interested in ensuring that the font on incoming mail does not display as non-standard.
