In a month's time, I am changing my ISP and so I will lose the email address that is attached to my Thunderbird. My wife is concerned that we might lose all our email addresses in our address book when we cease using this email address.

As I understand it, Thunderbird migrates the emails off the web-based server on to our iMac desktop computer and so anything that has already been migrated to our desktop will remain there even after we stop using that email address.

Is this correct?

Chosen solution

Adding or removing mail accounts doesn't affect your address books.

Before you remove the account from TB, copy the mail to subfolders of Local Folders, and confirm that the copy is successful. Then, when you remove the account from TB, the mail will remain in Local Folders. To be extra safe, save messages in eml format (Ctrl+S) to a folder outside of TB.
