When saving/opening file dialog is on screen the whole program freezes and take forever to unfreeze to the point I have to force quite the program. The problem seems to be only in Firefox.

Safe mode - same problem, Have done a complete refresh - same problem. Clean uninstall and reinstall - same problem.

Have moved to Chrome - similar problems.

The file dialog can be slowed down by third-party software (shell extensions), network drives and recently used files.

Do you happen to use the Windows On-Screen Keyboard (OSK)?

Wait for it to unfreeze and then visit about:third-party to see what third-party modules it has loaded.

Did you recently saved a file to a removable drive that is no longer present ? You can try to cleanup the MRU lists.
