Subject: Infinite Reload Loop with URI Fragment

Hi Sander,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. This behavior could be caused by how fragments (#) are handled in combination with the website or web application you’re visiting. Below are some steps to help address and investigate this issue:

1. Troubleshooting Steps • Check for Site-Specific Issues: Try opening the same URI in another browser or on a different device. If the issue persists, it may be a problem with the website rather than Firefox. • Clear Cache and Cookies: Cached data or cookies may interfere with how the fragment is processed. • Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Private Data and clear cache/cookies. • Test Without Extensions: If you have enabled extensions in Firefox for iOS, try disabling them to see if they affect the behavior.

2. Possible Workarounds

If the issue is specific to Firefox for iOS: • Use the full URL without the fragment (#) as a temporary workaround, if applicable. • Report the issue to the website’s support team if it’s not Firefox-specific.

3. Providing Feedback

To help us investigate further, could you provide the following details? • The exact URL where the issue occurs. • Steps to reproduce the issue. • Your Firefox version (found in Settings > About Firefox). • A brief description of the expected vs. actual behavior.

4. Next Steps

If this appears to be a bug, you can submit feedback directly from the app: • Go to Settings > Help > Share Feedback to report this issue to our team.

We’re here to help if you need further assistance!

Good Luck, Firefox Support

Thank you for the fast response. The Share Feedback menu item is a link to https://connect.mozilla.org/, where I do not find an option to report an issue directly to the Firefox for iOS team. I’ll share the requested details here:

The exact URL where the issue occurs: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-ios/issues/24081#issue-2780716467

Steps to reproduce the issue: 1. Ensure Firefox is set as default browser 2. Email the URL to myself 3. Tap the link in the email

Firefox version: 133.4 (49058)

Expected behaviour: The GitHub post is readable.

Actual behaviour: The page keeps refreshing.

Notes: This does not happen on Firefox on macOS. This does not happen on Safari on the same iOS device.
