In my firefox.exe file I do not have a profile manager, so I am unable to add my profile.

Help says to create a profile by typing "firefox.exe -profilemanager" in the search box in the open icon. When I do that nothing happens. When I go to the firefox.exe site and click it opens firefox.

Try to use the full path to the Firefox program.

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P

Still nothing happens. If I go to that site on my hard disc and click on firefox.exe it opens firefox.

This is the standard installation for Firefox - "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" - is that where it is installed on your PC?

The Profile Manager won't open if Firefox is running or if there is a "hung" firefox.exe process in the Task Manager.

more options

Yes. That is where it is installed.

If I type that address in the search box, the search replies that it can not be found. If I add "profilemanager", still can not be found.

When I did it this time I made sure firefox was turned off.

It seems like "profilemanager" should be a file in firefox and should be found like any other file. Obviously not.

Would really appreciate your help.

It's not a "file" it's an internal process.

Did you try using -P as suggested by cor-el, instead of profilemanager?

Still doesn't work.

You did place quotes around the full path to the Firefox program?

Surrounding quotes are required if a path has space characters like "Program Files" and "Mozilla Firefox" have.

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

For that question open a new thread like you did at https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/809278

First close firefox. Enter at the command prompt "firefox --profilemanager" (without the quotes) and it should work
