When entering anything whether in the menu bar or within any window in Mozilla, while using Windows 7, I have to hit the Minimize/Maximize button for my entries to show up.
I believe I'm on Firefox version 10.02, using Windows 7
Chosen solution
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.
This doesn't address my problem. Whether its minimized or maximized, when I type anything in I only get one letter and nothing else until I hit the min/max in upper right corner, then I see what I was typing.
