I'm using Android on an HTC phone, so this might be a bit different than what you see. To add a Firefox shortcut on the home screen, I "long press" and release, then tap App to add a shortcut to an application. On a Samsung phone, I think you long press until you get a pop-up, then tap Shortcut, then Application. Can you find anything similar?
