I followed the steps to upload a file that contains my signature, but it does not transfer to my outgoing emails.
I went to the Thunderbird Help website, Signatures, then to "Signatures stored in files", chose a file, clicked OK but it didn't attach to my outgoing emails.

Go to Tools -> Account Settings -> [account]. Here you can specify the signature or choose the file the signature contains.
There are separate settings to include signatures for replies and forwarded messages. It's under Composition & Addressing.
