How to stop Firefox from deleting Word text when dragging and dropping?

When I'm dragging text from a Word document into Firefox, the text is always deleted from the Word document!

When I do the same process with Chrome, Chrome will leave the text intact in the original document.

How do I get Firefox to do the same?

That's because the computer thinks you want to move that text. Do it again. BUT, after you hold down the left mouse, also hold down the <Control> key.

Try to hold the Ctrl key when dragging the text to see if that makes Firefox copy the text instead of cutting it.
