Every day Firefox runs out of memory and runs at 15% CPU before eventually crashing
Hello Since late December Firefox has become slow and unstable, requiring regular restarts. See below crash reports. There is a gap because I went on vacation. I do not use this PC much (only to run some extensions) and use FF to run some extensions so it is not my browsing / usage (although it might be the extensions I'm running?) Please help!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?

Try to disable multi-process tabs in Firefox. You can disable multi-process tabs in Firefox by setting the related prefs to false on the about:config page.
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
I set this config this morning.
Tonight RAM usage is nearly at typical crash levels (currently 1.6GB with one tab open, and is running at 4% CPU). This is better than normal after 12 hours of sitting there, and it hasn't crashed yet, but it is still very slow.
Is there anything else I can try?
David
Update: I have not used FF this evening, but see it's now running at 15% - 16% CPU and RAM has reached 1.73GB. It is very slow...
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
I have a similar problem bp-0a62504e-71da-469b-bb94-b13611170518
Hi rflexible
Best would be to keep the discussion in your own thread and nor post in multiple threads to avoid confusion about your issue and what has been tried.

This is also an older thread from January 2017, so I'm going to lock this thread.
Please do not reopen older threads since all crashes are different anyway.
