F12 then completely white web page

I accidentally pressed F12 when writing out a long forum post. Then I accidentally hit something else and the web page when all white. The correct web address was still displayed. What button does this so I can avoid it, and is there a way to reverse it if I do it again (besides reloading the page)?

F12 toggles the Web Console on/off, so you can press F12 another time to close this window. The Web Console window would normally show as a panel at the bottom of the Firefox window. I don't know what you did to get a white screen.

Once the console opened I knew that I had pressed F12, so there was no problem with closing it, just I had the white screen from pushing some other button. I thought maybe I hit another key nearby right after i accidentally hit F12 (I think I was aiming for backspace) so I tried all the keys nearby with no luck.
