Does Thunderbird support office365 app password?

I am using linux and my office365 account has 2FA enabled the problem now im a having is when i add my account and set app password as my mail pasword it keeps on popin up asking for a password.

I'm using an Office365 account via Thunderbird on both Linux and Windows and it mostly "just works". It does report a failure to login and prompts me for the password more often than other accounts. But the setup I'm using doesn't use 2FA so maybe this is the difference between your and my experience of it.
