I've got Google set up as my homepage and every time I type something in the search bar it saves what I searched for before when I click on the bar it's got what I've clicked on in blue and then says clear history below it I've tried the config settings Ive got Google's web history paused and now I'm stuck when I choose a different home page like bing it doesn't do it

Hi trmj2001, is this problem on your Android device or on a desktop OS like Windows, Mac, or Linux?

Normally when you are typing into a form field on a website, there are two possible sources of suggestions.

  • Firefox's Form and Search history. On "desktop" Firefox, you can use the keyboard to arrow down and press Delete (or Shift+Delete) items that have a little clock icon to erase that bit of form/search history. I'm not sure if that is applicable to mobile.
  • The site's own suggestions. Google doesn't let you turn off "impersonal" search suggestions based on its general data, as opposed to suggestions from your own history. Could that be what you're seeing?
