Sending emails are slower than previously. Why?

When I compose an email and "Send" it, the process of sending and copying to the Sent folder seems to be much slower recently. And this started BEFORE to COVID-19 caused increased usage of the Internet, so I'm sure that this problem is not related.

Any ideas on how to speed up the process?

Do you have a security/AV app scanning outgoing mail? If so, disable that option and see if it helps. What are the outgoing server settings?
