Cannot access the config page since latest update

When I type in "about:config" without marks into search bar i get a page saying

Cannot Complete Request

Additional information about this problem or error is currently unavailable. With this in the address bar

Hi, about:config is disabled in the release version. It's available only in beta and nightly.

What use is that if we need to alter something in the settings. Is this going to be enabled soon?

I don't think so. They decided to not enable it in the release.
