I have windows 10 pro version 1803 . Firefox is the only browser I use. Suddenly all my jpeg files changed from pictures to html text. How can I get my pictures back and stop this from now saving all jpeg files as html files?

Hmm, that's a problem. Could you describe this in more detail? Do you mean image files you saved have a .html file extension, or new images that you want to save are suggested to have a .html file extension?

One thing you might see is that servers apply additional compression to .jpg and .png files using WebP, and when you go to save these, they'll have a weird description like "Chrome HTML file" but a .webp file extension. Can you tell whether they are .webp files? I can suggest workarounds for that problem if needed.

P.S. While sorting out file naming problems, I strongly recommend turning off the hiding of common file extensions. This article has info on how: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-show-file-extensions-in-windows/

Thank you so much I don't know what happened I installed Edge and suddenly all my pictures changed to hyper text I think that is what you call it ? So I uninstalled it and then they changed into chrome html. I'm green so that's again. I've tried for a week and you were the first straight easy to understand answer and solution.
