Primary Passwrod

Hi: So I created a primary password for firefox but it doesn't seem to do anything. After restarting my computer I open firefox and when I try to access a site like Amazon, Firefox asks for my primary password which it fine. However, if I click Cancel on the primary password dialog box without entering anything I can still access the website as if everything is fine. So what's the point of the primary password? It doesn't seem to secure anything.

The purpose of the primary password is to secure your saved logins. Firefox still works the same for all other purposes (that is the primary password's only function).

Ref. Use a Primary Password to protect stored logins and passwords
