Fence Icon Above Email Address Box And Warning That Using Real Email Address Might Allow FaceBook to Track

Today is the first time I noticed a red fence icon above the box where I type my email address to login to the website where I do my work as a bookkeeper for a property management company. When I placed my cursor on the icon it said, "If you use your real email address here, Facebook may be able to track you. Click to learn more." See attached screenshot. But, clicking did nothing.

I'm pretty sure I'm safe since the email address I use to login to work is different from the one I use for Facebook, but could someone please shed more light on this?

Thanks! ~Elise

Hi Elise, this is a new feature of the Facebook Container extension. Although that box asks about sharing your email address with Facebook, it is not a determination that the site actually shares it with Facebook, it may be displayed on any website where you are entering your email address as a general reminder, and promoting the option to use a protected address (Firefox Relay).

Thank you for the information, jscher2000! I'm pretty confident that Appfolio wouldn't share my email address with Facebook, but I'm going to look into Firefox Relay and see what that's all about.
