Sending an email to multiple addresses from different address books
Hi Folks, Please can you help with the following: I've just updated to Thunderbird 102.1.2 and I'm having difficulty doing things I used to do easily on my previous version. Basically, I run a few on-line clubs and I have several address books, personal, video club, film club, camera club etc. I often send emails to multiple addressees selected from different address books. On the previous version of Thunderbird I would compose a new mail then go to my address books list and select one of them, I would then select the individual addresses from that address book by holding down Ctrl and clicking each address. Once selected I would then choose (at the bottom of the page) whether to add the selected to the To, Cc or Bcc field. This would add my selection to the appropriate address field in my already open email. I would then select the next address book and so on until all my selections were added to my open email. Since the update to version 102, the address book layout is completely different and there is no option at the bottom to select "Add To". The only option seems to be to select all the addresses first, before opening a new mail, then selecting "Write" opens a new mail with all the selected addresses but only from that address book. If I now try to select and add more addresses from a different address book, it's not possible and if I select some addresses and click "Write" I get another new email!!! So please can you help? Am I missing something completely? What was easily accomplished previously is now impossible unless I type in every single address manually. Surely that's not how it should work. Please help as an email which used to take less than a minute has just taken me 29 minutes to create. Hoping I'm missing something or for a quick solution. Regards, Doug.

I can only advise how I do that. The new layout makes it super easy. Here is what I did: - ONE TIME ONLY:
- click write - right-click near top to 'customize' and add the 'Contacts' icon to menu bar
- FROM THEN ON to write a message
- click write - click contacts button - the addressbook feature appears on right, with dropdown menu for address books. click the ones you want from a book, click the appropropriate to, cc or bcc - repeat that step for each address book.
Hi David, Many thanks for your interest and solution. That's brilliant, solved all my issues. I think I was thrown by the fact that my "Contacts" had disappeared and of course it's contacts I previously used for adding addresses not the entries in the address book. Now I've got my contacts back, it's just the same as it was in the previous versions. Thank goodness for on-line forums and the people who check them. Best Regards, Doug.
