Outlook Email Action Required-How to keep existing saved emails, sent, emails, folders, etc. SOLVED cookies must be enabled in Thunderbird

I'm down to the last few days before Outlook will not be usable on Thunderbird unless I jump through some hoops.

I've seen posts about deleting the Outlook account, then reinstalling it in Thunderbird and Thunderbird will create the necessary security steps to make it usable again. This seems to be the method that works rather than just going into the settings and changing the necessary security settings.

MY QUESTION IS: I have lots of emails (sent and received from past months and years) that I keep in folders within Thunderbird.

How can I keep those folders/emails in the format I have if it's necessary to delete the account on Thunderbird then reestablish it? My understanding is that deleting it in Thunderbird will also delete all local folders and email saved within that account.

Thanks B

I think I got it working. I guess there are cookie settings in Thunderbird itself. Set it to accept cookies from sites.

Thanks Bob

Oh, and I have been using pop and not IMAP for most of my accounts as I like to keep the emails locally. B

Press Alt-e and choose 'Account Settings' from the drop-down menu that appears, then click 'Server Settings' under the Outlook account and enter these details:—

 Server Name: outlook.office365.com
Port: 995 [993 is for IMAP in case you've seen that mentioned]
 User Name: <your e-mail address>
 Connection security: SSL/TLS
 Authentication method: OAuth2

Now click 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' in the left hand column. Double click the 'Outlook.com (Microsoft)' entry and enter these details:—

 Server Name: smtp.office365.com
 Port: 587
 Connection security: STARTTLS
 Authentication method: OAuth2
 User Name: <your e-mail address>

The second answer to this question explains how to remove and re-add the account without loosing anything if the above doesn't work.

Did first suggestion. A got the following. "We Cant sign you in. Browser is currently set to block cookies" See attached.

Can't seem to find what browser it's talking about.
