Hello François.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

No this does not solved the probleM : starting in safe mode with all addons disabled and default properties does not change anything

Francois

Have you tried to reinstall Firefox? Uninstall it first, then install it. No data will be lost.

Removing and installing firefox again does not change anything

I have an error message (in the error console) when the freshly installed firefox has started

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nsIPrefBranch.clearUserPref]" nsresult: "0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://dotnetassistant/content/bootstrap.js :: BootStrapDotNetAsssitantExtension :: line 52" data: no]

I had also this behaviour before.

I don't have this in safe-mode. But the orginal problem remains anyway in both mode

Francois

I don't think I can help you with this :\ Hopefully someone will know what to do.

Did you delete all of your set preferences?

C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox

I recommend backing it up first, then deleting the entire Mozilla or Firefox Folder, then launching Firefox.

Might have to do this: Uninstall Delete Folder Reinstall Launch FF
