Hi.

I've notived that with some sites, style information does not load. I get this with these sites:

http://www.thedailyshow.com http://www.barnesandnoble.com/

This normally isn't a problem: I just switch to a different browser for these sites.

However, I'm developing several site locally, using ff for it's webdev tools. Now, one of my sites has a stylesheet for which styles are not being rendered.

The net panel in firebug is telling me that the stylesheet is being requested, and that it is being returned. But the page renders with no style.

Both those sites render OK with FF3.6.8 (on SUSE Linux)

Try clearing the cache, then Safe Mode.

I'm afraid that that didn't do the trick.

Both the external site examples I gave display without external stylesheet data being reflected in the page rendering.

And the same particular local site is also not loading external style, even though the browser fetches the stylesheet successfully.

I've cleared the cache completely from the preferences->network tab. I've also cleared it from tools->recent history.

Neither option helps.

I googled around a bit, and found some users got this problem when the server doesn't deliver the css file with a correct mime type. I monitered the http headers for the request for the css file, and found that the mime type was correct. So, no luck there.

I uninstalled most of my plugins, including the web developer toolbar. But that didn't help either.

The only thing that I haven't done so far is set up a new profile, or just plain deleted my whole firefox install. This problem is pretty frstrating, and I can justify removing all firefox data and starting again just so I can get on with my job. But I'd like to know what's actually causing this, so I can make sure that it doesn't happen again.

You can click the Refresh button on the Navigation Toolbar or press "Ctrl + R" or F5 to reload a web page.

You can reload the page and bypass the cache with:

* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
