Images blacked out in nytimes.com

I read nytimes.com daily. For the past week or two, some (but not all) images (photos) started displaying as solid black boxes in Firefox but displayed correctly when I tried with Internet Explorer. (I never use IE--this was just a test.) I'm not sure which images go black, but it appears to be mostly those organized as a slide show.

I'm running Firefox with Windows XP. I have two add-ons, Adblock plus and FlashGet. I tried disabling both and restarting Firefox: the photos were still blacked out. Besides, when Adblock blocks a photo, the empty space is white, not black.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right-click context menu while saving an image.

See:

  • You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
  • You can see all exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
  • You can check the Tools > Page Info > Media tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)

This fixed it (Permissions). Thanks!
