Firefox stops responding frequently and always runs slow, also wants to resend info a lot?

I will be using Firefox fine one minute and then the next it will stop responding, it doesn't close down or anything, it just stops responding... nothing will work.

Also, I've noticed a lot of the time Firefox will run extremely slow. I thought that maybe it was the website I was using or a program my computer was running, or even the settings in Firefox, but it was none of them... It just runs really slow.

Frequently I get a window pop up that says that the script stopped working or that it needs to resend the information or something like that, it's very frustrating.

I've had to start using Safari again because unlike Firefox, Safari works... Does anyone know how to fix these problems because I do prefer Firefox?

Also I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba Laptop...

Try to create a new profile. To create a new profile, 1. Make sure Firefox is not running. 2. Press Windows key+R to open Run command. 3. Type firefox -p and hit enter. 4. Firefox Profile Manager will open. Click New Profile.

If the new profile works fine, import history and bookmarks from the old profile and delete the old profile. If the new profile doesn't work, get yourself a speed boost with Firefox 4 Beta.

I was able to open a new profile and everything seems to be working better thanks. The only problem now is that when I went to import the only option I was given was importing from I.E. So I guess I'll have to redo everything manually. But thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

If a new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
