I used to be able to scroll with arrows as if I were using my mouse wheel, but now when I press up and down, firefox takes me immediately to the top or bottom of a page. How can I make it so that it scrolls up and down bit by bit?

Click the orange Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Advanced. In the General tab, checkmark "Use Smooth Scrolling".

Also, either of these two add-ons might help: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/yet-another-smooth-scrolling/

That was great it worked perfectly! Thank You!

You may have switched on caret browsing.

You can press press F7 (on Mac: fn + F7) to toggle caret browsing on/off.
