How do I turn off tab groups? It forces the same tabs to reopen in next session

I upgraded to 6.0.1 and experimented with the tab groups. Now I cannot turn it off. It seems to force the same tabs to be opened with the next session. I had (and still have) the warn me when I close multiple tabs. It overrides that option if I click the close the window. It just closes the firefox window and reopens all the tabs with the next session. This nullifies the best feature that firefox had over chrome.

Please help me to get my old Firefox back...

Ok, it's stupid but simple. Go to Tools>Options>General; then in the options box switch it from "Show my windows and tabs from last time" to "Show my home page". I wholeheartedly agree that tabgroups are pretty useless and the fact there are already questions up all over the Mozilla forums as well as YAnswers about disabling them speaks volumes for their apparent worth, or lack thereof.

Oh, and you can also turn off the notifications about closing multiple tabs by going to Tools>Options>Tabs and unchecking the box. Hope that helps!

I have exactly the OPPOSITE problem. Even though I have my fox set to, "Show my windows and tabs from last time", it fails to save my tab groups (which I love)!

This is something specific to this computer, I'm sure. I suspect Delicious, but I'm not sure.

I'm with you permazorch... I like them. I want them to stay attached and open all of them when I open FF. I just wish there was a way to lock them at a particular point. Occasionally, I mistakenly close a batch of tabs from my second screen... when I close my primary screen, it forgets the second screen tabs, and I have to reopen and regroup the tabs I closed by mistake when I re-open FF... I love tabs and wish there was a way to keep them in spite of the fact that I might occasionally close them in the wrong sequence by mistake from time to time ...

Any recommendations for locking the tab groups once configured?

Until that time ... Earl J.

I need to disable the Group Tab option I accidentally turned on during an exploration I now regret. I need to disable it because it destroyed my ability to preview the multiple sites I have open on 1 Firefox when I hover my mouse above the Firefox icon on the tray next to my Menu. Now it only previews 1 site and the 1 I have last viewed. HOW can I please preview ALL again (meaning, I liked the little stack)? I have tried & verified numerous things, all pointing to the fact that I have everything set up right, so I really think it's this cursed Group Tab feature that over rode it all... Thanks for any tips.
