As the description says, I am unable to turn on the password manager. I have tried disabling all of my add-ons/extensions, and turning off my firewall. After that, I tried restarting the browser, and still getting the same result. Here is a screen cap:

The box is there, but it is shaded, and I am unable to check the box to activate it. I am running Firefox v21.0. I have two Addons: Adblock Plus, and Adblock Plus Popup Blocker. I simply use Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials. But, as I said before, I turned all of those things off and I am still getting this problem. Any help will be appreciated.

hello, when you've set firefox to not remember any history (=permanent private browsing mode) in the privacy settings, then no passwords can/will be stored either...

Thank you Phillip. That fixed the problem.  :)
