friend uses Chrome, cannot install Firefox - is Chrome preventing?

My friend has tried several times to download and install Firefox. His default browser is Chrome. He gets thru the download, but no Firefox installation wizard appears. What is preventing Firefox from being installed?

No just installed firefox from chrome on Mac OSX. Just locate the downloads folder and double click the downloaded firefox icon.

Firefox has two installers, a quick-downloading "stub" installer and a full installer. The stub installer needs to connect to the internet to download more data, and perhaps Windows is blocking this. Try downloading the full installer instead, from this page (scroll down to the desired language):

(I hardly use Chrome at all, so I don't know whether Chrome will run the installer automatically. Presumably you can use Chrome's download list to launch it if needed.)
