Crashes or other problems with certain multimedia content in Firefox (such as Youtube videos and Flash animations or games) can often be resolved by performing the steps in these Knowledge Base articles:
On Windows Vista and above, you can disable Flash protected mode by following the instructions on these pages:
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Disabling_Protected_Mode_in_Flash_11.3
(See this Adobe blog post for technical details about Flash protected mode.)
Please tell us if this helped!
Hello, also note that you have 2 version of flash installed in your pc (Shockwave Flash 14.0 r0 and Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0), keep only the latest Shockwave Flash 14.0 r0 (14.0.0.125).
thank you
when the crash happens a window pops up asking me to continue the script or stop the script i've uninstalled shockwave flash 13 going to see if this works
You already have two separate versions of Flash Plugins installed, so you install a 3rd version?
What ever you decide to "try" to fix problems with Flash, make sure that you remove all the other versions of Flash - multiple versions of Flash Plugins installed at the same time can create problems, too.
The Flash uninstaller is available here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
I have been fighting this problem for weeks now. I have removed and re-installed the latest Adobe Flash, Rel 15 now, and still suffer Shockwave Flash unresponsive and huge slowdown in response time. I see through various articles, this goes back to release 11.0, so how can this still be a problem and not fixed by Adobe. And what is the diff between shockwave flash and flash player ? Am I downloading the correct fix ? The error message states "Shockwave Flash has become unresponsive"
The "Shockwave Flash" plug-in and "Adobe Flash Player" are the same piece of software.
I have no idea why Adobe doesn't just adopt one name or the other. But it has to do with the fact that they acquired the technology and software from Macromedia 20+ years ago and continued to use the Macromedia "Shockwave" name(s) in various contexts, such as when Adobe Flash Player is a browser plug-in.
Flash crashes again and again and I follow all the Mozilla advice. It's OK for a bit, then crashes again. Is there a permanent fix?
Disable plugin container. I used "Second Method" in this link. http://www.fluxbytes.com/software-tips/how-to-disable-plugin-container-exe/
