I click the icon in the taskbar and it opens up, but doesn't maximize. I've uninstalled an reinstalled several times to no avail. I'm using Windows 8.1 OS. It was working fine, then last week, just won't maximize to see anything. I don't like using IE. This still works fine on my laptop which also has 8.1. I can't use the reset option because of the maximization problem.

It is possible that the Firefox window is off screen.

Does it have any effect if you press the Alt+Space shortcut to open the system menu with the resize and move choices?

This did not help. When I tried, I couldn't even see the page for FireFox.

Can you open Firefox via its desktop shortcut or via other means?

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

Everything I see is for Windows XP or earlier and I'm running Windows 8.1. Are there any instructions for this OS? I'm not very good at doing things on the computer, so easy instructions are the best. Thank you.

Somehow I got my Firefox back, but now everytime I log out and log back in, I have to change the resolution.

Thanks for your help. I somehow got this problem all fixed.
