I haven't changed any setting, but yesterday when I searched for something and clicked on a link, it stopped opening in a new window and instead all open in the same window. I've been automatically opening links in a new window for years, which is my preference. Now, nothing I do helps to get the old new window except right clicking. This is so annoying after years of loving the automatic new window feature. How do I get this back? I've looked on the web and many sites say 'no way'. Well, there has to be a way, as again, it did it for years. Please help, this is driving me to drink.

Does FF 33 not have a tab section in the Options any more? That is normally where I would look for that type of option.

I found ff33 in add ons, but it doesn't help me. I can open links in window by right clicking, but I'm trying to get it back to where it was before yesterday.....just clicking a link and have it automatically open in a new window. Thanks anyway for your reply.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Type about:preferences#general<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Tabs, check the settings.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.
