Firefox: How do I switch off navigation shortcut keys?

Firefox: My university study requires me to post mini-essays onto discussion boards. I spent ages drafting a post, and then just before I hit "post" I often seem to accidentally hit a keyboard shortcut key that sends my browser back, and deletes my draft. Can I switch this keyboard shortcut feature off? It is driving me nuts.
