Why Won't Firefox Update to 35.0.1?

I'm getting incessantly prompted to update Firefox to 35.0.1 (running Firefox 35.0, brand new install). I'm prompted at least 5 times a day to update to 35.0.1 with an annoying pop-up. My browser is set to update automatically, yet it still prompts me to update. When I click the button to update, it does not update. And even when I restart Firefox the browser isn't updated.

I still use Firefox for a few work-related items, but this problem is enough to drive me into Chrome full time.

I noted one other thread with someone experiencing this problem: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1044039 The board wouldn't let me reply to that...my post just went into the ether.

You can try to install Firefox 35.0.1 manually from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/#download-fx – hopefully this will solve your problem and it won't happen again when Firefox 36 releases on February 24th.
