Uninstalled. Reinstalled twice. Same problem. Following support suggestion I deleted the profile folder . Now the program will not start. Get message that the profile folder is missing. PC is Win 8.1. My other 8.1 PC works just fine with Thunderbird. Since nothing is working , considering copying the contents of the working profile folder to the inop pc..

Follow Up: Solved the problem.

I deleted the contents for the ImapMail file in profile. Then copied the contents for the same file from the working version on my other Win8.1 PC.

Went out of the freeze up loop for a while. Then got server time out message. Closed the program and restarted it. Got asked for the password. Entered and all works just fine. Problem solved. If I did not have a working profile to copy, I do not know how I would have solved this as re-installation and deleting the profile did not work. Just glad to be back up and running.
