why do i get sporadic slow response

i spend most of the day on my laptop, mostly on facebook. several times a day it's like someone throws a switch and firefox starts to run very slowly...then all of a sudden, it is fine. is that a fault of firefox or my isp? thanks

You have more than one version of Flash installed, please uninstall the out dated one and troubles shoot your extensions for performance improvement: Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
