How to get rid of annoying download button on Firefox 37.0.1

This little download button pops up everytime I pass over anything downloadable, often covering up small buttons so I can't even see what they say. I already know how to download things, I don't need this annoying button.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Restarting in safe mode seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the help. As for getting the screenshot, well I figured out how to do that and in the process solved another problem, thanks to both of you.
