not enough memory to download email,have deleted most emails, emptied trash, sent files help!!
it keeps giving me the message that it can't download my emails because there isn't enough memory. I have deleted most except the ones I really want to keep. I have deleted trash, sent, What more can I do. Except keep up with downloading them daily. I use my Ipad mostly. Or how can I get them to download on their own. I go to "new" and scroll down to my email address to get any new emails.

Did you compact folders after deleting all those messages? If not you have not freed up any space. Deleting marks for deletion and hides the file. Compacting finishes the task. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_Tips_:_Compacting_Folders
I don't know how to compact folders. I thought by deleting the trash, it freed up the space. I am learning so much. Thanks!

That's exactly what I needed to be able to download the new messages. Helpful article on compressing.
