Firefox crashes immediately in all scenarios

I have used FireFox for years--and it has been fine after the Windows 10 upgrade, earlier this month.

Today FIREFOX immediately opens the Crash Reporter window on startup. Tried it over and over, with reboots. Couldn't open it in Safe Mode--again Crash Reporter immediately appears.

I backed up my PROFILE--and erased the file.

Tried reinstalling after uninstalling---Crash Reporter immediately appears after installation is finished. I've tried reinstalling five times. Once I tried installing on an alternate drive...same result: Crash Reporter immediately appears.

Sorry to hear about the crashes, and thank you for the crash report ID.

The crash "signature" in your report has been linked to a problem involving Applian Technologies' Freecorder program in combination with popular security software (e.g., Norton, which you seem to be running).

If you have the Freecorder program and it isn't essential, try uninstalling it and then restarting Windows to ensure that none of its components are left running.

Will Firefox start normally after that?

YES! YES! YES!! This is amazing--truly.

I uninstalled my PROFILE and uninstalled FIREFOX over five times this morning.

Following you instructions, and rebooting, now FIREFOX is back in my START menu---like before--and it's as if I didn't do anything to the program at all! How is this possible? Five uninstalls and reinstalls--and no changes??!

Magic--black or white??

I'm happy.
