The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

Can't load Firefox!!!

Is it My Yahoo? I just saw two other reports so I'll copy/paste. If it's a different site, please read that in place of Yahoo:

That redirect message usually arises from Firefox using old cached files or old Yahoo cookies, or a mix of old and new. I suggest clearing those as follows.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove your Yahoo cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site (can be www.yahoo.com), try either:

  • right-click (or on Mac: Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar, click the ">" button, then More Information > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, yahoo.com should be prefilled at the top so you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading My Yahoo. Does that help?

Whatever your home page is, something is wrong with the link.

This worked for years! Apparently FF updated my system and now it doesn't work. So if 'something' is wrong, it was likely triggered. Thanks

Nothing here about a solution.

what can or should i do???

Yes, I cleared all history and everything is fine! Thanks

I tried both and neither worked. Should I remove all the cookies associated with Yahoo? And if so, will I then have a problem getting back into Yahoo sites?

Hi geneofva, I had to clear Yahoo cookies twice to get My Yahoo to stop redirecting in a loop. Or something got fixed on Yahoo's end.

If you remove your Yahoo cookies, the site will require you to log in again and set new cookies. If Yahoo stores settings in cookies, that information will be lost by clearing them. However, I suspect anything important is stored in your account (on the server) and not in a cookie.

It worked, but now the computer is balky. Can't win, I guess! Thanks for the help.
