Ver 56.0 64bit about Mozilla check update button not working. not saying its up to date. Why?

I updated to Firefox Version 56.0. 64 bit. (Windows 10 computer) When I opened the tab about Firefox I see 56.0 plus a box saying check for updates. When i click on this box nothing happens. I tried uninstalling Firefox and then reinstalling from the Mozilla web site. Still the same problem. I know 56.0 this the latest update. I would think the About Mozilla page should say that Firefox is up to Date and not show in a check for update button.

On my old computer running Windows 10 and Firefox 32 bit the update went OK About Firefox tab said I am up to date. Thank You for looking into this Jim

Yes, Firefox 56.0 is the latest stable release. Maybe your Firefox has been unable to connect to the update server for some reason?
