Has Firefox abandoned self-hosted open source bookmark options besides their own?
Has Firefox abandoned self-hosted bookmarks and history and passwords, particularly for those of us that do not want to sync over Firefox Sync at all? What happened to supporting open source projects dedicated to protecting user privacy? Firefox Sync for Owncloud was the most popular app on the entire platform afaik. It broke on the difficult switch to the more limited sync protocol 1.5 and there are still people running the Pale Moon community browser just to keep it 1.0 going. Over time Firefox’s commitment to allowing extensions still exists, but has greatly weakened. Your project is great, but I would love to maintain as much control over my data is possible, which includes not storing any of it on Firefox servers. Please, make it clearer that the community can engage with you on this topic. Also, please clarify where is the best place to discuss this topic and improve access to a privacy-conscious web for everyone.

The software is there for you. You have the option to use a Firefox Account with Mozilla, or self-hosted. The mailing list address for support is at the bottom of the doc page. That's what I see. That's what I know.

@jscher2000, Hi, thank you for following up. Perhaps you could connect me with someone able to give a more detailed response. I’d really appreciate it, and I know the self-hosted community is not satisfied with the current implementation of Sync 1.5 Afaik. There is plenty of room for improvement and collaboration to improve selfhosting bookmarks, browser history, tags and passwords stored on a selfhosted server.
