since thunderbird requires another email service address, tb is a mirror, not a true stand alone email service.. y/n, please explain

Looking for new secure email service, found Thunderbird (TB), not able to set up new email address had to enter existing working address (XXXXXXXX@yahoo.com), now have my yahoo on TB! Only choice allowed I followed only route available. Thinking this was process to create a stand alone XXXXX@thunderbird.com email, it"s not. So the question...since thunderbird requires another email service address, tb is a mirror, not a true stand alone email service.. y/n, please explain

TB is not a "mirror", it is software to access an existing email account (or create one on Gandi by paying for it).

You're correct it's not an email service and will never be.
