I was being paranoid about my profile data are going to get snooped at some case with all my login session, open tab and password in it. i already know and use master password feature but it seems it can still be accessed with the prompt that doesn't really block other people access to my logged in session and open tab (my open tab are quite precious since i don't want to bookmark much). so i was wondering is there a way to lock my firefox profile with master password completely. like in case i cant open my browser profile without inserting my master password.

Hi, no not in the terms you mean I think.

Do know if a problem happens with that area of the browser you will loose ability to login and if forget password all will be wiped clean on recovery. or You can remove it and store it some place else or you can zip it up with a password.

thank you for answering my question

sorry i cant seem to understand the following statement Pkshadow said

so master password only work to protect my login information and credential not my actual browser session by itself. and there are no way i could lock my firefox session other than locking my own desktop session, are these statement correct ?

i am interested in locking my profile because i'm having hard time when i have to lend my machine to the other. and profile command prompt seems inconvenient for me to be honest.

tbh it would be nice if there are an extension that could extend master password use to protect more than just my credential.

I'm also interested on how firefox sync handle my data. can you recommend me an article about it as well ?
