Win 7 - I have a corrupted registry on one 'users' account (not much works BUT Thunderbird does - oddly Firefox and Windows Explorer and many other apps cause hard drive thrashing). I have created another user account; works fine! I have huge amounts of emails and I wish to preserve some of them. I would like to move many of my sub-folders to the new user account. I do not wish to deal with various 'profiles' in my new user account.

HI, if have a corrupted registry run the sfc /scannow command from a Dos Prompt Administrator ( sfc<space>/scannow ) to fix it.

If you can get Firefox open for bookmarks or just backup the Profile

Your asking for Thunderbird help it is over here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird This Firefox Desktop/Laptop/...

apps cause hard drive thrashing

If your getting noise out of the h/drive start backing up and copy stuff off as that is not a good sign. https://www.howtogeek.com/134735/how-to-see-if-your-hard-drive-is-dying/

Please, that is more or less a useless reply. I believe that I said that the thrashing was under certain conditions and I certainly do not select those conditions! I have a new drive and will clone it soon.....just in case excessive wear has been done, duh.

P L E A S E! Read my problem statement! I want to PARTIALLY select certain folders from my Thunderbird email accounts and move them to another Thunderbird application! I am a VERY EXPERIENCED SOFTWARE DEVELOPER and do not need any """""HELP""""" moving files anywhere! I need to find out if the design of Thunderbird allows PARTIAL TRANSFERS of the 'PROFILES' to another platform! I strongly suspect the answer is NO!

Hi, and in my 1st answer to you it was noted your in the Firefox Forum and that the Thunderbird Forum was here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird

Please see them.
