T-bird unstable after adding theme. How can I get rid of remainder of theme?

I downloaded and installed a theme, After restarting, Thunderbird became extremely unstable, displaying just bits and pieces on my laptop screen. I tried uninstalling Thunderbird and then downloaded and installed the latest version. This did not help. After many attempts at closing and restarting, I was able to get enough displayed to run it in safe mode. I enabled the default theme, which helped the fix the instability problem. However, remnants of the downloaded theme still appear. How do I restore Thunderbird to its standard themes?

According to the FAQ, you should delete the Monterail xpi files while TB is running:

Thank you very much!

There were two Monterail xpi files and two xpi files with random alpha/numeric file names. I had to delete all four to make the fix. I didn't find anything related when I searched the FAQs...probably due to not wording my search phrases well enough.

Again...thanks much!!!

I'm not sure about the one beginning with d5e, but e2fda... is the Lightning extension, which you'll need for calendar functions.

Right you are! I was so excited about the theme fix, I didn't notice Lightning was gone! Re-installed Lightning and all is now well.

Thanks again!!!
